Macy's Christmas Windows is a famed holiday window in New York each year. It has become an iconic spot in New York among Christmas.Standard Transmission Production, cooperated with Macy's this year to design and build the interactive Christmas Windows.
We create an interactive Christmas Arcade along 34th St that invokes the holiday spirit, which allows players to engage with the Macy’s brand and our activation in a safe and socially distant fashion. These interactive windows incorporate classic Macy’s characters into fresh, yet on-brand, video games that both beautiful to the eye and to play.
The memory game is a Simon Says Game. It is a simple 2D game with physical computing. Players can interact with the game by pressing the foot pedals. Once the game is activated, the doors will open, revealing elves in distinctive colors, and the user must repeat the pattern with the corresponding color foot pedals. The game will increase in difficulty, with longer patterns, until the user makes a mistake, and will then restart.
Santa’s bag is a 1 to 2 person game where the users must help the clumsy elves pack Santa’s bag with gifts. The center elf teeters back and forth moving and rotating the target while the user presses the foot pedal on each side to launch the gifts. They can also control the launch speed and range by control the pressing time. The objective is to get as many gifts in the bag as possible. Stars and confetti appear every time a gift land accurately.
Santa's Sleigh is a flappy bird kind of game. The user presses a single foot pedal to repeatedly raise up Santa’s Sleigh and collect stars for points while avoiding the storm clouds. Hit these and Santa will drop presents and lose altitude. When the pedal is not being pressed the sleigh slows down and hovers low on the skyline, but never crashes or hits buildings. The objective is to collect as many stars as possible while keeping Santa on course and high up in the sky.
